I have loved teaching and children my entire life. I started with my teddy bears around the edge of my bed when I was in preschool. I am passionate about making education fun and meaningful. I love helping learners overcome, grow, and gain confidence on their learning journeys.

I felt the sting of a teacher’s words, at the age of 9. One of my own teachers told me, “You are not a good reader.” That was not the case, but it left me hurt and unsure of what I could do. I have let that be one of my driving forces to empower learners and meet them right where they are. In contrast, another teacher in high school inspired me to start tutoring my peers in math. I felt the joy and light inside me click as I helped others achieve success. I was ready to always encourage and never belittle. Everyone is capable of growth!

I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2010. I taught in the public school system at low income and turn around schools for 10 years. I have taught in kindergarten - fifth grade classrooms. I was honored to be a teacher and an english language arts/ reading coach for my schools. I earned my Reading endorsement and English Speakers of Other Languages endorsement in 2015. Covid came right after I had my second baby in 2019. I stepped away from the public school system to care for my own children. 

Online learning found my teaching journey in

2020. I never saw this path for my career. It has been more than I could ever have hoped for. Now, I have the opportunity to share light, love, and learning with children and families all over the world. I really have the coolest job!
